Please confirm or update the status of your candidacy at your earliest convenience. Included below is important information about the Endorsement Process and the upcoming State Convention. Pre-Primary Endorsement Information Endorsement Process If you would like to seek the California Democratic Party’s official endorsement as a potential candidate, please review the attached Candidate Endorsement Guide. This memo covers the pre-primary endorsement process, including key dates through the State Convention (Feb. 12). Candidate Filing To file to seek the official endorsement, a candidate must submit the attached Candidate Registration Form and pay the appropriate filing fees ($250 for Assembly, $350 for Congressional and $500 for State Senate) in a timely manner. Payment can be made by check or credit card. A Credit Card Authorization Form is attached for your convenience. Eligible Voters The list of eligible voters for the Pre-Endorsement Conference (held Jan. 21 or 22) is currently being processed, and will likely be completed by the end of the week. Once the list is final, candidates who have filed (reg. form & fees) will receive an electronic copy of the eligible voter list (names, addresses and phone numbers where available). All other candidates will receive an electronic copy of the list upon filing. Endorsement Website An endorsement website will be launched shortly which will list potential candidates for the Pre-Endorsement Conference by district. If you would like to ensure your name appears in the correct district, please confirm the details of your candidacy. Starting in January, candidates who have filed with the Party will have their names bolded on the website to indicate their filing status. Questions? STATE CONVENTION The Convention will be held at the Hilton San Diego Bay Front Hotel and San Diego Convention Center Friday, February 10th, through Sunday, February 12th. The Headquarters Hotel is the Hilton San Diego Bay Front near the Convention Center. HOTEL RESERVATIONS The room block at the Hilton San Diego Bay Front is SOLD OUT. However, there are other union properties near the Convention Center with availability which can be viewed on the Convention website.
